-- Learn how you can help reduce the risk of future sexual victimization and help released individuals lead productive lives in society at the Introduction to Circles of Support and Accountability training Oct. 5 from 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m.. (504 W. Chapel Hill St.)

-- Do you want to spread the news about the Affordable Care Act? Enroll America needs volunteers to canvass the area, give out info at festivals and generally share info.

-- The Pumpkin Patch Express is rolling once again. Help out with this great event at the Museum of Life and Science.

-- Preservation Durham needs help at the World Beer Festival, Oct. 5, in the afternoon and evening.

-- Let’s get quacking! Marbles Museum needs volunteers to help with Family Fest and the Great American Duck Race, Oct. 6. (American Tobacco Complex)  

-- It’s coming! The Kramden Geek-a-Thon is a weekend long event to refurbish computers and give them to needy families. Oct. 11-13.

-- Project Connect Orange County, Oct. 10, is a one-day, one-stop center that connects people experiencing or at risk of homelessness with a broad range of services, such as housing, employment, health and dental care, mental health care and more. New Volunteers must attend one orientation session: Oct. 3, noon - 1 p.m. Hargraves Community Center, 216 N. Roberson St. or  Oct. 8, 7- 8 p.m., Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Ministry Center, 300 E. Rosemary St.
