Volunteer of the Week
Lori Carlson and John Jarvis
Museum of Life and Science
Volunteers for 2 years
Individually, John and Lori are terrific volunteers. But together, this husband-and-wife team is one of a kind. John and Lori spend hundreds of hours each year at the Museum of Life and Science -- John as a docent in the Magic Wings Butterfly House and Lori with hands-on science experiments in the Investigate Health Lab.
John encourages visitors to discover and enjoy the butterflies and plants, and Lori provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the lab. They both use their creativity to provide visitors with special experiences that foster curiosity and a love of learning. And they also spend weekends and evenings volunteering together for special events. Their passion for science is unmistakable and is transmitted to all the people they meet.
Thank you, John and Lori, for your dedication and hard work, for being such great ambassadors for the museum!
