-- Help students with homework in after-school tutoring at the Salvation Army, Monday-Thursday, from 4-6 p.m.

-- Or work individually with students in the Achievement Academy’s Starting Points program in the morning or afternoon.

-- Childcare helpers are needed for parents who attend the Incredible Years program through Communities in Schools, Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-8 p.m.

-- Spread a love for reading by helping out at 4th Annual NC Day of Reading from 1-3 p.m. at Durham Public Schools Staff Development Center on April 12. (2107 Hillendale Road.)

-- Help out at the Annual Art Walk Spring Market in downtown Durham, April 12 and 13.

-- Do you want to help Durham Public School students and teachers?  Help Crayons2Calculators pick up donated supplies from JoAnn Fabrics.   

-- Are you skilled on the computer? Orange County Disability Council needs volunteers to help adults who have visual impairments with computer education in a classroom setting. April 22-May 15, Tuesday and Thursday, 1-5 p.m. (2551 Homestead Rd.).

-- Help out with childcare during support groups at the Compass Center (210 Henderson St.).

-- Do you enjoy seniors? Provide one-on-one visits with seniors who do not attend group activities at Carolina Meadows Retirement Center (100 Carolina Meadows Dr.).

-- Help out at Kidzu Children’s Museum with birthday parties, story time or as an exhibit facilitator (105 E. Franklin St.).
