Kent Sutton

Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership

Volunteer for 3 years

Durham Academy senior Kent Sutton is a natural leader, dedicated not only to making a difference in the world, but to inspiring other young people to do the same.

He’s on the board of directors of the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership organization and participated in its World Leadership Congress and in last year’s North Carolina HOBY seminar.

As a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Leadership Durham, Kent ran a canned food drive for Urban Ministries. He joined the Augustine Literacy Project so that he could tutor local school children through the Hope Valley tutoring club. He’s also co-founder and co-president of DA’s Chordoma Foundation club, which raised over $12,000 for research aimed at finding a cure for chordoma.

There’s no doubt that Kent will continue to find ways to help his community.  Thank you, Kent Sutton, for your hard work and dedication!
