-- Find out how you can help refugees moving into the Triangle by attending a Volunteer Orientation for CWS on Monday, at 5:30 p.m.. (112 S. Duke St.)

-- Do you like arts and crafts? Or maybe you’re into science? The Salvation Army needs helpers with its Boys & Girls Club to lead these activities. Supplies are furnished.

-- Do you have a compassionate heart for new mothers? Help give presentations about the resources of Welcome Baby at Duke Regional Hospital on Tuesday evenings.      

-- Find out about volunteer opportunities in our area by attending a General Volunteer Orientation on June 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro. Other partners present will be the Arc of Orange County and Kidzu Childrens Museum.

-- Do you miss spending time in the garden? Help pick veggies for our area’s hungry with the Society of St. Andrew.

-- Farmer Foodshare collects cash and food during area farmers markets. Staff a donation station and help feed the hungry in our area.

-- Do you love cats, but you can’t own one? Help Safe Haven for Cats by helping clean our shelter and play with the cats while you work! Or be a part of the Tabby Cabby Shuttle Service and transport cats to vets or clinics.

-- Is sorting something you can get into? Help out at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
