Exploring Durham

Rockin’ at the Casbah
Aug. 24, 2013 @ 12:15 PM

Casbah is an eclectic music venue in the Brightleaf district.  It features music in various styles ranging from rock and roll to folk to roots.  Formerly a specialty florist shop, the space has been reborn and hosts nationally touring bands and local talent on a 26-foot stage with professional sound and lighting.  There is a full bar with a separate lounge area that has seating. Some shows have row seating, but many offer open space for fans to stand, or to dance if the spirit moves them.

Casbah is a private club where guests are required to become members, or be guests of members, in order to enter. Membership is $3 with a form that is required for entry that can be filled out at the door. Members may sign-in up to two guests per night once they have been a member for 24 hours. Casbah is also available to host networking events, corporate functions, birthday parties, wedding receptions and more.

Insider Tip: Free memberships are available to students with a valid student ID.
