Durham woman interns with Sen. Cochran
Emily Richards of Durham has completed an eight-week summer internship in Capitol Hill office of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.).
Richards is a CE Jordan High School graduate and a junior political science major at Clemson University. She is the daughter of Meg Goodman Richards of Jackson, Mississippi, and Dan Richards. During her internship, she had a variety of learning experiences, including but not limited to working with Cochran’s administrative staff.
The Cochran internship program is designed to give selected college students a first-hand opportunity to experience the legislative process and the operation of a U.S. Senate office.
