The Granville Health System (GHS) Foundation will host its fifth annual Art Gala Nov. 16 at the Henderson Country Club.

“Celebrating Community” will be the underlying theme of the gala, which will feature more than 80 live and silent auction items. Trip packages for New York City and Kiawah Island will be featured, as well as weekend getaway trips including a week in the North Carolina mountains.

Highlights of the sporting events offered include tickets to college basketball games as well as hunting and golfing packages.

Many visual, culinary, and performing art items will be offered, along with custom jewelry and other art forms. They include tickets to shows at the N.C. Theatre and the N.C. Museum of Art, handcrafted pottery, original watercolors, a Coach handbag with matching scarf and several restaurant packages.

The lively black tie event kicks off at 6 p.m. with music by the Arlin Tart Trio,

cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by a dinner featuring hand-cut filet mignon with a demi-glace paired with crab-stuffed shrimp, sweet corn and smoked bacon risotto croquette.  Also being served is a blend of baby spinach, julienne squash, zucchini and carrots with smoked tomato butter.  Dessert consists of a culinary creation by Harvest Restaurant Head Chef and Owner James Dutra. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.

Gary Bowman, Chairman of the Foundation, said, “Our theme this year is ‘Celebrating Community’ and that’s really what we’re doing. This community has been tremendously supportive of the Foundation and our partnership with Granville Health System to provide quality health care to this community. For this we thank you.”
