The third annual Kangaroo Express “Salute Our Troops” tour, featuring retired U.S. Army soldier and drag racer Don O’Neal with his custom 2009 Mullis Salute Our Troops Dragster, met with fans at the Durham Bulls Military Appreciation Game Aug. 21.

The event raised awareness and money for the USO of North Carolina, Fisher House Foundation, Patriot Foundation, the Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund in North Carolina and the United States Veterans Corps.

Kicking off with a paratrooper show, the game highlighted the purpose of the Salute Our Troops fundraising campaign – to recognize military heroes across the Triangle, both those who have served in the Armed Forces and those who have positively impacted the lives of those who serve our country. The Durham Bulls marked the occasion with custom camouflage-inspired jerseys that will be auctioned off, with proceeds directly benefitting the Salute Our Troops campaign.
