Friends of Downtown hosts candidate forum

Aug. 28, 2013 @ 04:13 PM

The Friends of the Downtown will host its 2013 candidate forum Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Franklin Hotel on West Franklin Street.
The forum will begin with candidates who have not run for office before (George Cianciolo, Loren Hintz, Gary Kahn, Paul Neebe, Maria Palmer, Jonathan Riehl, Amy Ryan and D.C. Swinton), followed by the incumbent candidates (Sally Greene and Ed Harrison), and then Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt (running unopposed).
Each candidate will be given two minutes to introduce themselves before answering the first question.
After each question, the moderator will ask someone from the audience for one follow-up question on the topic. If time permits, the moderator will ask a second audience question of each candidate.
The event is free and open to the public.
Free parking is available in the lot behind the Franklin Hotel but only on the side facing the hotel and in the hotel's gated lot as available.
Parking is also available in the new town lot behind Chipotle and in the town lot next to 411 West.
