The Kehillah Synagogue, an inclusive and engaged Jewish community that inspires people’s lives and deepens Jewish involvement through celebration, worship, education, social action and values, has announced the appointment of Anne Maner as executive director.
Maner brings more than 13 years of experience in temple administration, most recently as executive director of Temple Beth Orr in Coral Springs, Fla.
Maner is a senior member of the National Association for Temple Administration, having graduated from the NATA Institute, where she completed a series of courses and exams in Membership, Public Relations, Personnel, Budgeting and Finance, Techniques and Tools of Synagogue Management and Governance.
Her first foray into temple administration was 11 years with Congregation Mickve Israel in Savannah, Ga., the third-oldest Jewish Congregation in America. While there she was instrumental in assisting with the 275th anniversary of Mickve Israel in 2008, as well as renovation of the historic sanctuary and construction of a new administration building.
As a temple administrator, Maner has experience with fundraising; social events, including weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs; and all it takes to keep a synagogue operating. Prior to her work in temple administration, she owned and operated two retail bridal salons in Newberry and Columbia, S.C., for 15 years.
Maner’s first day at Kehillah will be Jan. 21, 2013.
Kehillah Synagogue is located at 1200 Mason Farm Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
