It has come to my attention that Susan Gladin has been writing columns for the Chapel Hill Herald for 15 years. That is quite an accomplishment.
We would like to thank the many people who joined us last Saturday night at Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle for another successful event to benefit burn survivors at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center.
Michael Ross, chairman of Voice For Israel, in a July 30 ChapelBoro.com article, criticized the Salaam-Shalom bus ad which encourages ending military aid to Israel, saying, “(The ad) promoted that Israel did not have the right to defend itself.” This claim is patently absurd.
An unintentional consequence of comments made at the May 30 Orange County Commissioners’ public hearing on the budget put as much emphasis on “raising taxes” as on not cutting the county and city schools’ proposed budgets.

Stanley Peele says “that in the Oklahoma and Colorado cases, there is not clear proof that earthquakes were caused by fracking. Yet they would be hard-pressed to explain the Ohio case.”
