Letters to the CHH editor, Oct. 5

I have never written a letter to the editor but after hearing about the issues raised at a recent Town Council meeting about Town Manager Roger Stancil, I decided that today was the day to start.

Letters to the CHH editor, June 15

On June 5, I had the opportunity to speak to the board of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. As on that very night 70 years before, ordinary members of our armed forces prepared to board ships, planes and gliders to invade Normandy on D-Day and do some extraordinary things we now honor.

McCrory-Cooper battle could harm government

It's going to be a long and grinding campaign for governor. The election is more than two and a half years away, but the sniping started last year. It's going to get worse.

Building community with a front yard library

“We’ve got a new library in our front yard.”
My grandchildren's report should not have surprised me. These kids and their parents have chickens and bees in their backyard and a host of projects that sometimes make me wish I could be a child again, just to grow up again alongside of them.
But a library in their yard?

I am a resident of Carrboro and not Chapel Hill. I do not agree with the Town Council's recent decision to cancel the Sister City affiliation with Saratov, Russia.

Letters to the Editor, CHH

Michelle Gardner’s letter (Jan. 26) discussed solar energy investment on the grounds of sustainability.  Some simple math shows that investment in solar energy need not be solely about the environment.

Jan. 23, 2014 @ 10:43 AM

Invest in solar projects

The way we are using our energy, including the means and the rate at which we are doing so, is far too unsustainable for our modern lives. I truly hope that community investors in Chapel Hill will see the urgent need for new solar development projects and do what is truly best for their community.
