Angela Cannady Cope, mother of her angel in heaven, April Lynn Cope, and daughter of Ms. Tony Cates Cannady and Orval Clifford Cox, Jr., son of Orval Clifford Cox, Sr. and the late Garlene Burris Cox, were married December 21, 2013 at The Duke Chapel in Durham, North Carolina. The bride is a graduate of Durham High School and received all her training at Duke. She is an Electrodiagnostic Technician in the Electromyography Laboratory at Duke University Medical Center. The groom is a graduate of Southern High School and attended Elon College. He is a Pressroom Manager at the Herald Sun Newspaper. The Maids of Honor were Tori C. Pleasants, Amanda Cannady, and Suzanne C. Phillips. The Best Man was Orval Clifford Cox, Sr., and the Groomsmen were Stan Cox and Blair Phillips. The Ushers were Colby Pleasants and Collin Pleasants. The Flower Girl was Ava Phillips and the Ring Bearer/Little Drummer Boy was Caden Pleasants. The Officiants were Dr. E. Wayne Massey and Dr. Mark B. Skeen. Dr. E. Wayne Massey gave the bride away, along with her family and all who love her. The Rehearsal Dinner was hosted by the groom’s Uncle Stan and Aunt Suzanne Cox at The Angus Barn for the wedding party and family members. The reception was held at The University Club. Custom photography was provided by Blair Phillips Photography, which included Blair Phillips, his wife, Suzanne Phillips, and Dustin Phillips. Carlota Reyes was the Harpist for the wedding. Randy Thompson was the soloist performing “Ave Maria” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The Duke Chapel Organist was David Arcus. The Wedding Coordinator was Blanche Williams. The groom is the drummer in 3 bands and they were the entertainment at the reception. They were the Mardi Gras Band with Francis Brown, Buck Ferrell, Don Ennis, Cliff Cox, Mike Bisdee and Hubert Deans; Keith Henderson and the Illusions Band with Buck Ferrell, Mike Bisdee, Artie Robinette, Hubert Deans, Cliff Cox and special guest Stephen Smith played a song with the band, and the Sweet Sensations Back-up Vocals, Kim Robinette, Angie Cox and Lauren Henderson Miller; Frankie Faucet and the Drips with Wayne Leonard, Mike Quinn, Steve Collins, Erich Haas, Garth Haas and Cliff Cox. We would like to thank Jim Walker and wife, Deb, of City East Sound for their help with lights and sound, Jay and Chris Byrd of Triangle Sign for the wedding banner and Ridgecrest Baptist Church’s Exalt Band for their love and support. We would also like to thank everyone who blessed us with their presence on our most special day. The couple plan to honeymoon in Hawaii. The couple will live in Bahama, North Carolina.
