Miss Katherine Diane Foy of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Mr. Joseph Bankston Harvard of Durham were married October 13, 2012 at the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church in Pawleys Island, SC. The 5 p.m. ceremony was performed by Reverend Joseph Harvard, father of the groom. A reception followed at Pawleys Plantation.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Crawford Edward Foy Jr. of Columbia, SC, and Pebble Beach, Calif. She is a graduate of Santa Catalina School in Monterey, Calif., and Clemson University, and is a teacher at Ashley Hall School in Charleston.
The groom is the son of Reverend and Mrs. Joseph Sherwood Harvard of Durham. A graduate of Jordan High School in Durham and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he is employed in the hospitality services industry in Charleston and pursuing a career in nursing.
Maid of honor was Ms. Polly Pope Rainey of Charleston, friend of the bride. Her bridesmaids were Ms. Erin Mauren Ryal of Atlanta, Mrs. Lara Clark Winburn of Columbia, SC, and Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Newman of Mt. Pleasant. Miss Sara Rebecca Foy of Columbia, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Best man was Mr. Douglas Benjamin Bacon of Charlotte, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Joseph Daniel Caughman of Charleston, cousin of the groom, and Mr. Darren Crawford Foy of Columbia and Dr. Randall Crawford Foy of Richmond, Va., brothers of the bride. Master Brett Michael Foy of Richmond, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
After a December honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are residing in Mount Pleasant, SC.
