Mar. 11, 2014 @ 11:55 AM

Ponysaurus on tap: The Durham-based nanobrewery Ponysaurus is taking over the taps at the craft beer bottle shop Sam’s on Saturday.
Ponysaurus launched last year, selling beer made at Durham’s culinary business incubator and commercial kitchen The Cookery on West Chapel Hill Street.
To-date, the nanobrewery’s beer has been available only on-tap in Durham at locations such as Mateo Tapas, Geer Street Garden, and Watts Grocery, Wine Authorities, and in Raleigh at Poole’s Diner.
But on Saturday, in addition to offering the beer on tap at Sam’s Quik Shop, the nanobrewery will be offering bottled beer for sales as well. This is the first time that the brewery will have offered bottled beer for sale in the Bull City.
The event will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Sam’s Quik Shop at 1605 Erwin Road in Durham.

Guglhupf hosting dinner: Guglhupf is hosting a grower champagne dinner at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Tickets are $80 per person.
The tickets buy a five-course meal paired with grower champagnes from four estates: Pehu-Simonet, Chartogne-Taillet, Pierre Gimonnet & Fils and Vilmart & Cie, according to a news release.
Grower champagne is champagne made by a producer from grapes grown solely on its own estate. They are in contrast to wines from the larger champagne houses, which buy larger quantities of grapes from different vineyards across the region that are blended to create house-style wines.
Reservations can be made online at www.guglhupf.com or by calling 919-401-2600.
