Job fair for part-time, game-day positions for Bulls

DURHAM –A job fair Saturday will fill part-time game-day positions for the 2013 Durham Bulls baseball season, according to a news release.

The Durham Bulls and the Durham JobLink Career Center are hosting the fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Durham JobLink Career Center at Northgate Mall.

Interviews will be held for seasonal, part-time positions in game entertainment, grounds keeping, retail operations, seating bowl hosting, stadium operations, picnic hosting and ticket operations, according to the release. Job fair attendees are encouraged to fill out an application in advance on the website.

The Durham Bulls begin the 2013 International League season on the road before returning to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park April 8 for their home opener against the Gwinnett Braves.

Project management seminar slated for Feb. 21

DURHAM – The City of Durham Equal Opportunity and Equity Assurance Department is offering a free, project management seminar Feb. 21 for small businesses, according to a news release.

The seminar will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers at 101 City Hall Plaza. It is the third in a workshop series for small businesses.

The seminar will be conducted by Balfour Beatty Construction’s Calvin Stevens, director of business development and diversity, and Chad Danforth, project manager. It will explain contractor relations, scope review, site management, and how to close a project.
