Quintiles earns industry award
DURHAM – Quintiles, the Durham-based biopharmaceutical services company that manages clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies among other services, was named contract research organization of the year at the 2012 SCRIP Awards in London.
In addition to the “CRO of the Year” award for the company, Quintiles’ founder Dennis Gillings received the SCRIP Lifetime Achievement Award, the company announced on Thursday.
In April, Gillings stepped away from the day-to-day operations of Quintiles. He continues to serve as executive chairman.
The SCRIP Awards are awarded based on judging by an independent panel of 16 life sciences experts, the release states. The eighth annual awards ceremony was held Nov. 28 in London.
