Quintiles makes ‘Best Places to Work in IT’ list
For the sixth time in seven years, Quintiles was named to Computerworld’s “100 Best Places to Work in IT” list.
Quintiles is No. 54 in Computerworld’s list of large companies with 5,000 employees or more. Quicken Loans took the No. 1 spot on that ranking of large companies, USAA was No. 2, and General Mills was No. 3. Cary-based SAS Institute took the No. 23 spot.
To create the ranking, the magazine sends out a survey that has questions about average salary and bonus increases for the different companies, the percentage of IT staffers promoted, IT staff turnover rates, training and development, the percentage of women and minorities in the staff, retention efforts, reward programs, benefits and tuition and other education-cost reimbursements.
“We are delighted to be named for the sixth time as one of the top IT workplaces,” Quintiles Chief Information Officer Richard Thomas, said in a statement.
Quintiles is a Durham-based biopharmaceutical services accompany whose major business is in the management of clinical trials for drug development companies. The company has more than 29,000 employees in about 100 countries.
