Gregoria’s to hold open house: Gregoria’s Cuban Steakhouse is holding a grand opening April 4 with a nine-piece band, drink specials and free food.

The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant at 2701 Hillsborough Road.

There will be all-day $2 mojito, sangria and draft beer specials, music from the salsa tribute band Orquesta la Calve and live salsa demonstrations.

A variety of appetizer and dinner items will be made into complimentary hors d'oeuvres so guests can taste a wide selection of the Cuban fare. Gregoria’s offerings include the cubano sandwich, lechón asado, ropa vieja and grilled options ranging from skirt steak with chimichurri to pan-seared salmon.

Gregoria’s Kitchen was open for more than two years before closing last year due to fire damage. The owner relocated to the larger location on Hillsborough Road that has a reclaimed-wood bar and a patio with seating for up to 70.

In addition to the grand opening celebration, Gregoria's is also launching an ongoing bar menu starting Tuesday. It will include pulled pork and chimichuri, fried olives stuffed with queso fresco, and more. The tapas will be available Tuesdays through Sundays in the bar, and available at a special happy hour rate of $3 or less per item from 5 to 6 p.m. each day.
