Durham Rescue Mission thrift store: The opening of the Durham Rescue Mission’s new 35,000-square-foot thrift store at 3900 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. in Durham is now set for Thursday.
The opening has been pushed back as progress on the building renovation project hit some “bumps along the road,” said Rich Carr, store manager. The building previously housed ZX Fitness, as well as a Circuit City store at one time.
The thrift store will be the Durham Rescue Mission’s largest thrift store of three.
“Donations have been rolling in,” Carr said. “We can always use more donations, but we’ve got a good start really.”
The store will be opening from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and closed Sundays.

It’s expected to be offered through the first few days of January as well.
