Monuts makes list of best doughnut shops
DURHAM –Downtown Durham’s Monuts Donuts made Thrillist’s list of the 21 best doughnut shops in America.
Thrillist is a digital media outlet that sends daily emails with tips on food, drinks and entertainment.
Monuts is an independently owned shop run on Parrish Street downtown. The husband-and-wife duo behind Monuts started off as a solely mobile business, offering doughnuts handmade at the Durham-based commercial kitchen The Cookery and sold from a tricycle with a cargo box on the back.
They sell doughnuts as well as sandwiches.
RDU to host Terminal 1 event
MORRISVILLE –Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority on Wednesday will host a celebration of the opening of the airport’s renovated Terminal 1.
The celebration will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Terminal 1 ticketing area.
East Coast Game conference kicks off Wednesday
RALEIGH – The two-day East Coast Game Conference kicks off Wednesday at the Raleigh Convention Center, bringing together vide game artists, programmers, designers, producers, students and academic and business executives.
The conference is presented by the Triangle Game Initiative, a nonprofit trade association for video game companies in North Carolina, along with the International Game Developers Association, a nonprofit trade association of video game developers around the world.
The two-day conference includes talks and panels on a range of game development topics. Last year, the conference drew about 1,300 participants.
