Southpoint Microsoft store opening in August: The new Microsoft retail store will open at The Streets at Southpoint at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 after a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the company announced.

Microsoft Stores carry products including Windows 8.1 personal computers, tablets, Windows phones, the Xbox One gaming console and Microsoft Office 365. The stores also have an answer desk and staff to help with computer set-up and other services.

The company opened its first retail store in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2009. Since then, Microsoft Corp. has opened more than 100 retail locations.

The Southpoint store is opening in the space at the mall previously occupied by Brookstone.

Bridal shop planned to open on Main: The two sisters behind the Tre Bella Flowers florist shop on Broad Street are planning to open a street-level bridal boutique downtown at 124 E. Main St. by August.

They bought the building last year, according to Durham County property records. Cosmic Cantina previously had used the bottom floor for their catering business, but they moved to a new location in January.

Currently have their bridal store on the second floor, and are in the process of renovating the first level for the boutique.

They plan to sell clothing, jewelry, accessories, mason jar flower arrangements, terrariums, and home goods in the new boutique. They also plan to renovate the alley level and rent out that space to office users.

Previously, their bridal shop was in West Village.
