Zinburger to replace Rockfish: In case you missed the stories in The Herald-Sun last week, Rockfish Seafood Grill at The Streets at Southpoint has closed, and is slated to be replaced by a Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar.
Zinburger is expected to employ about 125 people. It will be the first Zinburger outside of New Jersey for Livingston, N.J.-based The Briad Group, a  franchisee for Wendy’s, T.G.I. Friday’s, Corner Bakery Café, Marriott, and Hilton. The company is a licensee for Zinburger.
Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts opened the first Zinburger in 2007 in Tucson, Ariz. The Briad Group has the rights to develop Zinburgers in 23 states east of the Mississippi.
Zinburger restaurants sell gourmet hamburgers and paired wine selections. The restaurants also have salads, turkey burgers, chicken salad sandwiches; sides such as fries, sweet potato fries, zucchini fries and onion rings; and desserts such as hand-dipped milkshakes, pies, floats and malts.
Rockfish closed as the lease came up for the Durham location. The restaurant was the only location outside of Texas for the Dallas-area-based private company that owns the chain, said Virginia Pivonka, a spokeswoman for Rockfish Seafood Grill Inc.
