The Durham-based marketing software company Bronto Software is planning to hire 65 more workers in 2014, according to the company’s chief executive and co-founder.
Launched in 2002 out of CEO Joe Colopy’s home, the company is now based in Durham’s American Tobacco Campus, and employs 180 people. The company is in the business of developing and selling software for online retailers that allows them to drive email, mobile and social campaigns.
For 2013, Bronto closed with a revenue run rate of more than $31 million. This year, the company is looking to grow revenues 25 to 30 percent.
In addition to its headquarters in Durham, Bronto now has an office in London, where the company employs 15 people. It also recently just opened an office in Sydney, Australia, where it employs two people.
Colopy said the location in Australia has multiple benefits, including allowing the company to serve customers in that time zone more easily.
“First, the Australian e-commerce market is strong and growing very quickly so we’re seeing a great opportunity to acquire more customers there,” Colopy said in the email. “Second, the Australian office along with the London and Durham ones gives us a global coverage at a basic level. This makes us more competitive across the board. Now, the sun never sets on the Bronto Empire, as they say.”
Colopy said the company is hiring for all departments, but primarily for sales and engineering positions. The current open positions are listed on the website http://bronto.com/careers.
