Chapel Hill Realtors association swears in officers, directors
CHAPEL HILL – New officers and directors have been sworn into service for the Greater Chapel Hill Association of Realtors, according to a news release from the association.
The Greater Chapel Hill Association of Realtors elected Jennifer Guyer-Stenner of Fonville Morisey as president. Brett Bushnell of Prime One is the president-elect.
Claire Billingsley of Coldwell Banker-HPW Chapel Hill is treasurer,
Sandra Paul of The Home Team is assistant treasurer.
The association allowed new members to its board of directors: Jay Parker of Weaver Street Realty, Randy Cox of CB-HPW Chapel Hill, Jessica Bryan of House to Home Realty, Fred Stevens of Prudential YSU, and Gayle Claris of Coldwell Banker-HPW Chapel Hill.
They were sworn in at the association’s annual installation and awards banquet.
Auditor joins accounting, consulting firm
DURHAM – Shareholders of Thomas, Knight, Trent, King and Co., certified public accountants and business consultants, announced that Ryan L. Niklawski has joined the firm as an auditor.
Prior to joining the firm, Niklawski served as a staff auditor and senior auditor with international and regional accounting firms.
The firm has an office at 3400 Croasdaile Drive, Suite 301, in Durham.
NC Board of Architecture appointment announced
DURHAM – Brenda Pollard has been appointed as a public member on the N.C. Board of Architecture.
The board is responsible for enforcement of regulations governing the practice of architecture in the state.
Pollard, a Durham resident, is a retired North Carolina state government employee. She was executive assistant to former N.C. Secretary of State Thad Eure, and was executive assistant to former N.C. Commissioner of Insurance Jim Long.
Durham law firm announces recognition
DURHAM – Durham attorneys at Thomas, Ferguson & Mullins, L.L.P. have been notified that their firm has been included in the 2013 U.S. News Media Group Best Lawyers list of “Best Law Firms” for 2013.
Details of the honor were released with the U.S. News and World Report’s Money Issue, on newsstands Nov. 20, according to a news release from the firm.
“We are honored by the announcement, including our firm as among the best firms in America,” said William J. Thomas II, in a prepared statement in a news release. “Best Lawyers is significant as it is a vote of our peers. But it is also acknowledgement that our firm is known for delivering important legal services to our clients in their time of need.”
Best Lawyers is a peer-review publication for the legal profession. The 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in America includes 41,284 lawyers in 50 states and the District of Columbia. The list is based on more than 4.3 million evaluations of lawyers by lawyers.
