Whiskey to close
The downtown bar Whiskey will be closing in August after nearly five years in business, the bar announced on social media networks Tuesday.
The private club, styled as a 1930s-style bar, has carried specialized cocktails, liqueurs, a wine list, as well as an extensive whiskey menu.
A post on the bar’s Facebook page said Whiskey's final day in business will be Aug. 2, barring unforeseen circumstances. The upstairs bar will be closing immediately.
The new hours will be from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The bar was slated to be closed today.
“I would like to thank all of our past and present patrons as well as our staff for all their hard work and loyalty over the years,” the post said.
An owner of Whiskey, Rhys Botica, also owns the Surf Club bar on Rigsbee Avenue. The closure of Whiskey is not expected to affect Surf Club’s operations.
