Changes in store at Renaissance Village
Sub shop on its way, hot yoga open: The Momoyama Japanese Restaurant is closing after five years at Renaissance Village, the southern Durham shopping center near SuperTarget and The Streets at Southpoint.
Rich Roy, regional director of leasing for the shopping center, confirmed that Momoyama will be closing on Saturday. In its place, he said a new Penn Station East Coast Subs restaurant is targeted to open this fall.
The new sub shop will be owned by a franchisee of a national brand. The shops serve grilled or cold deli subs, fries, and lemonade.
“They’re a great national name; we have them in some of our other shopping centers,” Roy said. “They’ll certainly drive traffic.”
Also new to Renaissance Village is the Hot Asana Studio & Boutique. In addition to the new Durham studio, the independently owned business also has a studio in Southern Pines. Roy said the studio opened in a second-floor space above the new restaurant Harvest 18.
The shopping center is also home to Rise Biscuits and Donuts, Michael’s, and other shops. Roy also said that the Integrated Audio-Video store has closed at the shopping center. He said they’re in negotiations for a new tenant.
“We will be announcing probably another restaurant in the next 60 days,” he said.
