The grand opening of the mixed-use development 140 West will be held starting at 7 p.m. on Friday.
The groundbreaking for the project was first held in January of 2011 on the former town-owned parking lot at the corner of Franklin, Church and Rosemary Streets.
The development includes 140 condominiums, 109 of which have been sold, 26,000 square feet of retail space, a plaza, and parking.
The restaurant Lime Fresh Mexican Grill opened earlier this month in the project, and Gigi’s Cupcakes is slated to open next door to the eatery.
Kendria Sweet, a spokeswoman for the project, said the Eye Care Center will be moving across the street from University Square into the development.
Sweet also said a lease has been signed for a new restaurant that will go into 6,808 square feet of space in the development. She said the restaurant is a new concept for an established brand, but said she couldn’t say the restaurant name.
“It’s going to be a nice addition to Franklin Street,” she said.
