A new tenant for 140 West: A lease has been signed for The Gentlemen’s Corner to open a store location at 140 West, the mixed-use development in Chapel Hill that includes condominiums, retail space, an outdoor plaza, and parking.
There are three existing locations for The Gentlemen’s Corner, an upscale men’s clothing business that was founded in 1978. There are store locations in Pinehurst, Wilmington and in Palm Beach, Fla.
Harrison Sasser, a partner in the company, said the store will be opening next spring. He said it will offer several lines of clothing that cater to college students. They’re planning to sell Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Hickey Freeman, and Peter Millar-brand clothing.
In addition to The Gentlemen’s Corner, other retailers that have committed to 140 West include Spicy Nine, Gigi’s Cupcakes, and Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom. Lime Fresh Mexican Grill already opened a restaurant in the development.
Ivy Greaner, chief operating officer for Ram Realty, the developer of the project, said about 5,000 square feet remains to be leased of the 25,000 square feet of retail space in the project.
