Indian restaurant opens on Miami

New fast-casual Indian eatery: An Indian restaurant called Curry Point Express opened Monday on South Miami Boulevard, serving express lunch and dinner as well as sit-down options.
The express menu includes one entrée and a side for $5.99, two entrées and two sides for $7.49, and three entrées and two sides for $8.99. Sides include naan, fried rice, or white rice. For an additional $2, customers can add a dessert and a medium drink.
The restaurant also offers a to-go menu between 5 and 9 p.m., and has dinner special options including Tikka Masala for $9.99 and Saag for $9.99.

Vans open at Southpoint: The Vans opened Friday at The Streets at Southpoint selling skateboarding shoes, clothing and accessories.
The 2,340-square-foot store is on the upper level next to Hot Top, replacing the Build-a-Bear Workshop.
Vans is known for authentic sneakers offered in a range of patterns and colors, including checkerboards, stripes and polka dots, according to a news release.


Model car racing center to open: A grand opening will be held July 27-28 for the new Ho-B Recreation Center Park a 20,000-square-foot remote control model car racing and recreational facility at Northgate Mall.
The park features multiple racing tracks as well as a full hobby shop with model car accessories and expert repair service, according to a news release.
In addition, birthday party rentals will also be on tap for groups of 10 or more featuring racing, full service catering and socializing.
Corporate events are also available to liven up business occasions with racing fun and full service catering.
After opening weekend, unlimited Ho-b RC Park track access day passes are available for $10 on week days and $15 weekends. Car rentals are available for 30 to 60 minutes from $12 to $25. Unlimited monthly memberships are $50 per month.
Model car racing classes will also be part of the park’s activities for novices and experts.
Owner Ivan Maresca opened his model car operation Ho-B Max at Northgate as a kiosk April 2011 then as an in-line store in March of last year. He sells battery-operated, electronic hobby crafts including airplanes, cars, boats, helicopters, rockets, tanks, and trains. There are store locations at Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem and at Northgate. 
The Durham park will be free and open to the public during opening weekend featuring free model car racing, sales, discounted accessories, and expert repairs.
The normal hours of operation are noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday to Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Dress for Success Triangle to hold excess sale: Dress for Success Triangle will hold one of its quarterly inventory excess sales for the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 at Northgate Mall. The sale will coincidence with the state’s tax-free weekend.
Dress for Success Triangle has doubled its retail operations to a 5,680 square foot suite in the mall near Sears and the carousel.
There will be two promotions: Customers who arrive at 9 a.m. and donate $20 at door will get early bird access. The first 50 shoppers will receive a free piece of jewelry on Sunday.
Dress for Success Triangle provides business-appropriate clothing, mentoring and professional development programs. It serves clients by referral from partners including job training programs, educational institutions, homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters.
