Ming Garden replaced by Indian, Chinese eatery

Rasa opens in Chapel Hill North: A new restaurant serving Indian and Chinese food called Rasa has opened in the Chapel Hill North Shopping Center.

The restaurant is in the space that previously housed the Chinese food restaurant Ming Garden.

The lunch menu includes items such as or Thai Basil Chicken for $6.95, with broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, yellow squash, and carrots in a Thai curry coconut sauce, and a dish called Murg Makhani that’s made with boneless Tandoori chicken cooked in a cream sauce, tomato, and spices, as well as vegetarian and noodle dish options.

Dillard’s at University Mall: The Dillard’s at University Mall is expected to close between Jan. 15 and 31, according to a notice sent by the company to the N.C. Department of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions.

The store is expected to be replaced by a boutique movie theater operated by Silverspot Cinema, a division of the Venezuela-based movie theater company Cines Unidos, mall and town officials announced.
