Pet Wagon Hotel: A dog boarding, day care and training facility called The Pet Wagon Hotel has opened on Old Chapel Hill Road in Durham.
The business provides pet sitting, dog walking, and ground transportation in addition to pet boarding and day care services, according to the website,
Located at 3215 Old Chapel Hill Road, the facility opened in a renovated location that previously housed Atomic Empire, a comic book and games store that moved into a larger space in a shopping center on Westgate Drive.
Company President Juan Galvis said prior to the opening of the facility, the business just did pet sitting, walking and transportation. Galvis is also head trainer of the dog training business Dogability.

Pet boutique, bakery: Signs for a new pet boutique and bakery called Other End of the Leash are up on the space at 1000 W. Main St. in Durham that previously housed the children’s consignment clothing shop bien-aimé.
The sign said the new business is slated to open in the fall. The children’s clothing shop had closed in the space in June. It will be next door to Fifi’s Fine Resale Apparel, a women’s clothing consignment shop. Fifi’s has expanded into the neighboring space that at one time housed the Durham location of the women’s upscale fashion boutique Uniquities.
