Win pizza for a year
Old Chicago in Chapel Hill: The new Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom restaurant and bar is open at the mixed-use 140 West development on West Friday Street.
A grand opening will be held for the business on Thursday. The first 76 customers in line before the 11 a.m. ribbon cutting will win free pizza for a year.
The event will also include a free-throw shooting competition to benefit the nonprofit Farmer Foodshare.
Old Chicago will donate $76 to Farmer Foodshare for each free throw that makes it in the basket in honor of the company’s start in 1976.
There will also be a craft beer and pizza pairing event. With a $2 donation to Farmer Foodshare, participants will be able to try Old Chicago’s craft beer and pizza. The event will welcome a new set of guests with a new pairing every 15 minutes from 3 to 5 p.m.
Old Chicago serves Chicago-style pizza along with salads, calzones and appetizers. The menu also includes a ‘pick two’ lunch combo with meals less than $9. The Chapel Hill location will also have 36 beers on tap.
The 6,800-square-foot restaurant has outside and patio dining and 16 TVs.
