Durham Chamber to hold Affordable Care Act forum

DURHAM– The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce will host a forum on the Affordable Care Act on Aug. 15 in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

The forum is designed to help small business owners better understand the requirements of the federal health care overhaul and how it may impact their business, according to a news release.

The speakers scheduled are Robert Bultman, senior marketing strategist of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s small group market segment; Wally Dawson, managing principal at Digital Benefit Advisors; and Walker Wilson, director of the insurer’s health policy office.

The forum is free and open to chamber members and business owners. The forum will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at the offices of the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro chamber to present ‘State of the Community’

CHAPEL HILL -- The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with its Partnership for a Sustainable Community, will present the State of the Community Report sponsored by Triangle Community Foundation.

The event will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 27, at The Friday Center in Chapel Hill. 

Aaron Nelson, Chamber president and CEO and executive director of the Partnership, will present the report and take questions from attendees. 

Registration is required. Tickets are $25 for chamber members, $35 for non-members, and $300 for preferred seating for eight.
