RTI director selected for second-term task force role
DURHAM -- Lisa Greene, director of micro-analytical sciences at RTI International, has been selected for a second term as a member of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Air Quality Task Force, which was established to address agricultural air quality issues. Greene was previously appointed in 2011.
Created by the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996, the 25-member task force serves for two-year terms and advises the Secretary of Agriculture on oversight and coordination related to agricultural air quality.
The task force consists of leaders in farming, industry, and other experts in the fields of agriculture and air quality.

Durham resident, insurance exec named to trade group post
CARY - Durham resident Bobby Salmon, vice president of Insure in Raleigh, has been named chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina for the 2013-14 term.
Salmon was re-elected during the association’s 116th annual convention, held Oct. 6-9, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He has worked in the insurance industry for more than 20 years. He has served on the IIANC board since 2004 and held numerous leadership roles within the association.
He is past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Durham-Chapel Hill and served on the Builders Mutual Producer Council.
A native and resident of Durham, Salmon’s civic involvement includes service as treasurer of the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department and as past president of both the Riverside High School Booster Club and Eno Valley Swim & Tennis Club.
The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina is a professional trade association representing nearly 1000 independent insurance agencies and branches across the state.

Architecture firm hires marketing director

DURHAM -- Stephanie Williams has joined Durham-based Roughton Nickelson De Luca Architects as director of marketing, the architecture firm announced.
She has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience, much of it in North Carolina’s Triangle and Triad regions.
She’s a graduate of Cornell University and received her master’s of business administration degree from Wake Forest University.
At RND, she will be working to define and execute marketing strategy and to assist with business development initiatives.
She is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
