Software firm to acquire Durham’s OrgSpan
DURHAM – The publicly traded software and services company Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. has plans to acquire Durham-based OrgSpan, a company that offers cloud-based social communications services.
The companies plan to close the deal in 30 days, although the deal is subject to certain closing conditions, according to a news release by Interactive Intelligence.
OrgSpan’s products include OrgSpan Select, a computer program that allows customers to search and view the social profiles of agents. It also has a company directory of OrgSpan Connect users that includes information-rich personal profiles designed to improve employee collaboration.

March sees more tech jobs than February
RALEIGH – Employers posted a daily average of 3,030 openings for information technology jobs across North Carolina in March, according to N.C. Technology Association report.
The average was up 1.7 percent compared with February’s, but was down about 23 percent compared with the average in March 2013.
