United Airlines is adding a second daily non-stop flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to San Francisco International Airport starting April 1 of next year, according to a news release.

The seasonal flight will end Aug. 18. The spring-and-summer flight comes on the heels of United’s addition of a second daily flight to SFO for the peak holiday travel days.

That flight begins Dec. 19 and will end Jan. 6.

With the new flight, customers can choose between a morning or afternoon departure from RDU and from San Francisco. Tickets for the spring and summer seasonal flight go on sale Saturday.

However, United Airlines has told RDU the flight will be timed similarly to the holiday flight, which has an afternoon departure from RDU and a morning departure from SFO.

United Airlines has been serving RDU-San Francisco non-stop since August 2012.
