Weatherby Healthcare relocates to Durham

Since Weatherby Healthcare opened  in North Carolina in 2001, it has grown by nearly 4,000 percent.
What started as a company in Cary with three employees has grown to 120 employees over the past 13 years. The growing business will now call Durham home.
Weatherby officially moved its office from Cary to a 27,000 square feet space at 5003 S. Miami Blvd. on Wednesday.
“It’s an upgrade all the way around,” said Vice President Mike DePaolis. “(At the old office) we were basically on top of each other.”
The new space has many amenities for employees that the Cary office didn’t, DePaolis said, including a gym, a wellness clinic, and a “fun room,” with ping-pong and Foosball tables.
Weatherby, which matches health care providers with facilities, is a subset of Utah-based CHG Healthcare Services.
DePaolis said the new location is central to the Triangle and where a lot of business comes in. He said the company plans to grow to 250 employees in the next four to five years.
Pat Kennedy, group president of CHG, said the exponential growth is due to the culture of the company and focus on the employees and their happiness.
“(Our) culture is the real differentiator,” she said.
Weatherby is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and has about 330 employees there.
