Washington Duke names marketing manager
DURHAM – The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club has appointed Sheena Cooper, the former director of communications and marketing for the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, as marketing manager.
She began her new role this week following an eight-year career with the chamber. Cooper will report directly to and work closely with Jack Schmidt, the director of sales and marketing.
Cooper’s responsibilities with the hotel encompass sales and marketing efforts including in-house collateral development, management of web site content, guest e-communications, special projects and working with marketing service partners on the Inn’s marketing initiatives.
Cooper has lived in Durham for more than 12 years and is a graduate of N.C. Central University in Durham, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with honors.
Cresa Carolinas launches Durham office
DURHAM -- Cresa Carolinas has officially opened its second North Carolina office.
Edwin Yarbrough, managing principal of Cresa Carolinas, leads the firm’s operations and is based in downtown Durham.
Cresa Carolinas, a leading national real estate advisory firm specializing in tenant-exclusive representation, has seen strong growth in revenue, service lines and personnel, despite a challenging economic environment.
Yarbrough is a founding partner of Cresa Carolinas, where he advises local, regional, and national companies with a variety of their real estate needs.
Cresa Carolinas’ Triangle office has added new advisory and project management professionals to the team. Joining Edwin Yarbrough in the Triangle office are Marlene Spritzer, Thomas Wittenberg and Ann Fisher.
Vietri announces internal staffing changes
HILLSBOROUGH -- Vietri, a more than 30-year-old Hillsborough-based importer of fine Italian handcrafted dinnerware, flatware, glassware, linens, decorative accessories, and garden urns, has announced staffing changes.
Holli Draughn will join the senior management team with a promotion to vice president of sales. Anne Campbell Robbins has moved into the position of national sales manager.
Joan Bolick has been hired as the new product development manager. Mark Gabriel has been promoted to chief financial officer. He was previously controller.
In the marketing department, Lisa Boyles has been named vice president of marketing.
Under her supervision, Ellen Thompson has been promoted to public relations manager. Finally, Lee Gravely Frankstone has been named vice president of strategy and technology, where he leads the executive team and has responsibility for strategic planning, business development, and information technology.
