Hairston to be Tar Heel again next year
Sophomore guard P.J. Hairston will be coming back to play for North Carolina next season.
“My junior year will be one to remember,” Hairston announced over Twitter at 3:13 p.m. this afternoon.
Hairston led the team with 14.6 points per game during the 2012-13 season. His average shot up to more than 18 points a game after the Greensboro native entered the starting lineup for the final 13 games, spurring a late-season charge by the Tar Heels (25-11).
The 6-5 guard was also third on the team in rebounds (4.3) and second in 3-point percentage (39.6).
Two UNC starters, junior Reggie Bullock and sophomore James Michael McAdoo, still haven’t announced whether they will return to school or start their professional careers. The deadline to enter the NBA Draft is April 28.
