Inmate who fled work detail back in jail
Kenneth Lussier, who escaped Monday from Orange Correctional Center’s minimum-security unit, was back in custody late Monday.
Lussier turned himself in at approximately 11:30 p.m. and was placed in administrative segregation at Orange Correctional Center. He will face escape charges.
About 5 p.m., correctional staff were notified that Lussier, 40, had walked away from an outside work assignment in Hillsborough. He's serving 12 to 15 years for habitual felon, larceny and felony breaking and entering. He had been due for release in July 2015. He is from Durham, authorities said.
