UNC reaches NCAA tennis final
North Carolina will play for the NCAA women's tennis national championship after topping Stanford 4-3 in the semifinals at the University of Georgia on Monday.
The teams were tied 3-3 with only the No. 1 singles match, featuring UNC's Jamie Loeb against Stanford's Kristie Ahn, remaining to be completed. Ahn, the ranked No. 3 in the nation, won the first set 7-6. But Loeb, ranked No.1, won the last two sets 6-0, 6-0 to send the Tar Heels (29-5) to NCAA final.
UNC will face UCLA for the national championship today at 1 p.m. UCLA beat Florida 4-0 on Monday.
