DURHAM – A man was shot in the leg shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday on Liberty Street in East Durham, police said.
He was treated at the hospital and released. No further details were available.
Man charged with assault
DURHAM – Harlan F. Jones, 47, of Cecil Street, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Jones was in the Durham County Jail Friday under $30,000 bond.
Heroin, cocaine possession alleged
DURHAM – William C. Cheatham, 41, of Mineral Springs Road, was arrested Jan. 21 and charged with possession of heroin and cocaine and manufacturing, selling or delivering a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school or day care. Cheatham was in the Durham County Jail Friday under $35,000 bond.
Woman robbed of cash, more
DURHAM – A woman told police she was robbed Thursday of $800, a $500 money order, an identification card and a cellphone.
In other crime:
- Burglars hit a home Wednesday in the 1400 block of Juniper Street and stole copper pipes worth $400.
- A sump pump worth $85 was stolen Wednesday from a home in the 700 block of Park Avenue.
