Our New Day Begun: The Faith of Duke's First Black Voices
This moderated panel discussion, hosted by the Rev. Dr. Luke Powery, dean of Duke Chapel, will explore the role of religious faith for the black trailblazers who helped integrate Duke University over the last 50 years.
5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Duke Chapel
Founders’ Day Convocation Ceremony, followed by a reception on the chapel quad. The convocation speaker will be N.C. Senator and trustee emeritus Daniel T. Blue Jr., JD'73.

1:15 – 3:30 p.m., Durham Performing Arts Center
Duke Celebrates Durham: Where Great Things Happened in 1963
Come for a panel discussion and lively town hall meeting. Admission is free for students, $5 for all others. Doors open at noon for viewing of exhibits. Free shuttle buses will leave West Campus bus stop every ten minutes between noon and 12:30 p.m.

50th Commemoration of Black Students at Duke: Culminating Program in Page Auditorium
Join Duke alumni, members of the current Duke community and friends of Duke from the city of Durham for a spectacular multimedia program honoring Duke’s African American legacy and future.
