DPS to hold hearing on suspensions and discipline
The school board will host a public hearing Monday on suspensions and discipline from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Holton Career and Resource Center auditorium, 401 N. Driver St.
The hearing will give residents a chance to share thoughts about how to reduce the use of suspensions and improve discipline in the school district.
Speakers are asked to sign up when they arrive at the auditorium.
Each speaker will be given three minutes to talk about suspensions and discipline in Durham Public Schools.
To accommodate as many speakers as possible, the board will devote its time to listening to the community rather than responding.
To protect student confidentiality, individual cases will not be discussed.
